Books on the Prophetic
The
Word and the Spirit
by Paul Cain and R. T. Kendall.
This book was compiled from a series of sermons presented at a conference in
London, England in October of 1992. After having read this book, I believe that the thoughts presented by
these two speakers and authors could help move the church forward. They come from very different perspectives
and yet see similar needs in the church. I do not agree with everything in this book, but I do recommend that it
be read thoughtfully and with an open mind.
Thus
Saith the Lord?
Subtitled How to know when God is speaking to you through another.
From the back cover, the question is asked: "Too often, modern
'prophets' stream through our churches, fellowships, and homes giving words
almost like fortune-tellers. But is God really speaking?" John Bevere, also author of The Bait
of Satan and The Fear
of the Lord continues to provide Biblical principles and practical examples
of how to tell when God is speaking to you. He warns against a near epidemic of false prophecy. People who accept the operation of the gift
of prophecy in the church need to read this book.
Many people will claim to be speaking for God. Others may have an actual message for you from the Lord, but not
make any claim at all. This book will
help you listen and discern what is being said.
