Energion Reader's Guides are posted under construction. One of the great advantages of the internet is having material which is under construction and which can be easily updated. The Christian title for the Hebrew scriptures, derived from the new covenant or testament prophesied by Jeremiah and brought into existence by Jesus.
I recommend using the terms Hebrew scriptures or Tanakh in interfaith dialogue, or when referring to non-Christian exegesis, and Old Testament when looking at the specifically Christian understanding of these writings.
The specifically Christian portion of the Bible, written in Greek, occasionally called the Greek Bible thought that term can be confusing. The combination of the Old Testament with the New Testament constitutites the Christian Bible.
Materials which would be suitable for use in departments of religion at secular universities. This does not imply more or less correct in content.
Involving persons other than those of one faith (Christians and Jews, for example). Distinguish from interdenominational.
Involving persons from more than one Christian denomination. Distinguish from interfaith.
