Anderson, Bernhard W.

This author writes clearly on Old Testament topics.

Ashley, Timothy R.

I have only encountered this author through his commentary on Numbers in the New International Commentary on the Old Testament, but that one encounter was very good. He tends to be very negative on critical conclusions, but those who are quick to accept them would do well to listen to his criticisms and strengthen their arguments.

Bauckham, Richard

Professor at St. Andrews University, author of numerous books on the New Testament from a relatively conservative/orthodox position

Black, David Alan

David Alan Black is a professor of Greek and New Testament at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a prolific author of both books and scholarly articles. His works include a number of basic guides to topics such as the synoptic gospels, textual criticism, and lingusitics for Greek students.

His most recent book is The Jesus Paradigm, published by Energion Publications, part of the Energion.com family.

Bock, Darrell

Darrell Bock is a research professor of New Testament studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, with a PhD from the University of Aberdeen. He is a leading scholar at the far right (very conservative, but still involved in the conversation) of the search for the historical Jesus.

Borg, Marcus

Marcus Borg is the one liberal author I recommend nobody fail to read with reference to the search for the historical Jesus. I have always suggested reading at least one author from either side. I realize that is all many people will do, if that much. The two authors I recommend are Borg from the liberal perspective, and Wright from the conservative. Both write extremely well, engage in wonderful, thoughtful dialogue, and treat one another with great respect. They have written one book together The Meaning of Jesus, a wonderful exchange that will enlighten and challenge you.

Brown, Raymond E.

Moderate Catholic scholar and exegete who has contributed much to New Testament studies and written extensively and well on the search for the historical Jesus.

Carson, D. A.

D. A. Carson is a conservative evangelical scholar of considerable repute. I find his work on the KJV debate and other translation issues, including gender accuracy, to be very helpful and compelling. He has also written some considerable material on historical and language issues.

Childs, Brevard

An outstanding author in Biblical studies who emphasizes the canonical approach to Biblical criticism. This doesn't mean that he ignores sources, form and redaction. Rather, he brings everything down to an understanding of the form as we have it. I found his commentary on Exodus, and my current reading (Nov 2004) of his commentary on Isaiah to be a challenging learning experience.

Comfort, Philip

Author of numerous books on Biblical studies and Bible translation.

Crossan, John Dominic

Crossan is a key writer from the more liberal perspective on the historical Jesus and the early Christian church. While I personally prefer the writing of Marcus Borg, Crossan is probably the most thorough exegete in the liberal camp. He also explains his methodology clearly so you can follow his arguments throughout. I suggest Crossan as the second most important writer to read from the liberal perspective as you study the quest for the historical Jesus.

Ehrman, Bart D.

Excellent scholar and popularizer who has moved from evangelical Christian to agnostic. Interwoven with his scholarship is his own experience of loss of faith. His books generally appear more controversial on the cover than they do inside.

Fee, Gordon

Emeritus professor of New Testament at Regent College, Vancouver, BC. Dr. Fee is an outstanding exegete, perhaps the best the charismatic movement has produced. He has written a number of excellent books, including the commentary on 1 Corinthians in the New International Commentary on the New Testament (NICOT), Paul, the Spirit, and the People of God (link to Amazon.com), and Listening to the Spirit in the Text (link to Energion.com review).

Makar, Robert

Bob Makar is a layman who has spent years studying Biblical chronology, with a particular interest in how the various Biblical events fit together. The result was his book The Messiah and His Kingdom to Come: A Biblical Road Map, published under the Energion imprint EnerPower Press.

Bob is available for interviews, signings, or to speak about Biblical history for your church group.

Neufeld, Henry

Henry Neufeld is the owner of Energion Publications, author of Identifying Your Gifts and Service, What's in a Version?, co-author of When 3 to 8 Gather and I Want to Pray, and editor of the Participatory Study Series. He is also president of Pacesetters Bible School, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing biblical and theological scholarship to people in the church pews.

Scofield, C. I.

Tenney, Merril C.

Conservative evangelical author who has written extensively on the New Testament, including introductory works and commentaries.

Thompson, Alden

Dr. Alden Thompson has a PhD in Old Testament studies from the University of Edinburgh and is a professor of Biblical Studies at Walla Walla College. He is the author of Who's Afraid of the Old Testament God (from Energion Publications) and Inspiration: Hard Questions, Honest Answers amongst others. Dr. Thompson is dedicated to helping the laity work constructively with difficult passages in the Bible and to helping them gain confidence in their ability to read for themselves.

Wenham, David

A prolific and well-respected evangelical scholar. Those interested in the search for the historical Jesus will be interested in his writings on Jesus and Paul.

Witherington III, Ben

Professor at Asbury Seminary and well-known Wesleyan scholar.

Wright, N. T. (Tom)

N. T. Wright is a prolific and thorough writer on the historical Jesus and related Christian topics from a conservative perspective. Though Wright is a conservative, he is by no means fundamentalist, and he engages seriously the critical methodologies used in this type of study. His popular works seem a bit light, but they are balanced pretty thoroughly by his extremely thorough and detailed scholarly works.

Energion.com Book Author IndexChristian Fiction

Debbie Macomber

Debbie Macomber loves to tell the story of how she got published. Of how she struggled for five years to find a publisher who would buy one of the manuscripts she wrote in her kitchen on a rented typewriter. Of how the young, dyslexic mother bargained with her four young children to give her the quiet time to write. Of the sacrifices Debbie and her husband, Wayne, made so she could pursue the dream that burned in her heart. Her books are delightful 'light' reading for teen, young mother, empty nester, or anyone who enjoys a cup of tea, a bubble bath, and a good book!

Greeley, Andrew

It was hard for me to classify this author page. I chose Christian Fiction, but many will disagree with that. Father Andrew Greeley's writing ranges from mysteries to more general fiction to non-fiction books. He is trained as a sociologist and ordained as a priest. What I appreciate most in his writing is the clear presention of the gospel message of grace in fictional form.

Those who are afraid of, or disgusted by sexual imagery will not enjoy these books. Greeley sees the passion of one human being for another as simply a limited reflection of the passion with which God pursues us.

His books include the Father Blackie series (and then Bishop Blackie), which are just plain fun as mysteries, but nonetheless frame the clear expression of God's grace.

Henderson, Dee

Writer of Christian fiction including romance, mystery, and suspense.

Rivers, Francine

Francine was named to the Romance Writers of America (RWA) Hall of Fame in 1997. She has won awards for her books that range from Golden Medallions to Silver Pens. But Francine cares most about people--her husband, Rick (married over 30 years), her grown children Trevor (married to Jenny), Shannon (married to Richard Coibion), and Travis (married to Katie). In addition, her grandchildren, Brendan, Andrea and William, keep Francine and Rick feeling young at heart. Francine and Rick Rivers live in Northern California and own a family business, but Francine tries to write almost full time. (from the website)

Wick, Lori

Lori Wick is the bestselling author of more than 25 books (over 4.1 million copies sold), including the popular Rocky Mountain Memories series, the Yellow Rose Trilogy, and stand–alone novels such as Pretense, The Princess, and Sophie's Choice.

Energion.com Book Author IndexCreation

Morris, Henry

Young earth creationist write associated with the ICR.

Wise, Kurt

Dr. Kurt P. Wise is professor of geology at Bryan College in Dayton, TN. He studied under Dr. Stephen Jay Gould at Harvard. Dr. Wise is obviously intelligent and I believe honest. I recommend him strongly as a representative of the young earth creationist camp who clearly understands the science involved. Note that I do not concur with his view, I just regard him as an informative writer on the topic.

Energion.com Book Author IndexEconomics

von Mises, Ludwig

Ludwig von Mises was the leading light of the Austrian school of economics. His work Human Action is a classic in economic theory and philosophy. His shorter and more practical Bureaucracy is also an exceptional and instructive read.

Energion.com Book Author IndexEvolution

Dawkins, Richard

Excellent author who writes at the serious popular level about evolution and related topics. Dawkins is fiercely atheistic and especially opposes those who hold theistic views to the liberal side of the spectrum. Despite his disdain for my own theological position, I find that his explanations of evolutionary theory are well worth reading.

Kenneth Miller

Biologist and textbook author. Miller is also author of "Finding Darwin's God," a book on the relationship of religion and evolution. I find Miller to be an engaging and informative author with exceptional insights.

Besides the author link, see MillerandLevine.com. (HN)

Van Till, Howard J

A Christian writer with a high view of scripture who writes on creation and evolution.

Zimmer, Carl

Popular author of books about science. Journalistic in style, with as much emphasis on the stories of scientists as the science involved, Zimmer has made a good deal of evolutionary theory more available to the general public. His books are good reading and sources for the lay person.

Energion.com Book Author IndexFantasy

Pratchett, Terry

Terry Pratchett is the wonderfully funny writer of the Discworld series amongst many other books. I heartily recommend most things he's written.

Tolkien, J. R. R.

Tolkien is a classic and wonderful fantasy author. I highly recommend his work, but these days you have probably heard of him already. If you enjoy the movies definitely consider reading his written work.

Cooley, Lindell

Lindell Cooley was surrounded by ministry and music throughout his formative years. His first practical musical experience came when he was taught to play the tambourine at the age of five. From there, he went on to play the drums, bass guitar, organ and piano. Nearly three decades later, he is drawing on all those musical skills and more as president of Music Missions International (MMI). Like David, Lindell’s most celebrated credential for leadership is his heart. Perhaps, if one were to compare him to others who have studied and written on worship, he could be described, as he considers himself to be , a novice. But the pursuit of God, and the relationship with God, that he allows outsiders to observe in his writings, teachings and recordings reveal a man after God’s own heart-a man who believes the words of the prophets recorded in Acts 15:16-17, “After this I will return and will rebuild the temple of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does all these things.”

Floyd Ellsworth

Floyd's genuine love for people is evident when he leads worship. His heart's desire is to usher the bride of Christ into the presence of the Lord. “The Westminster Catechism says it best,” Floyd says of his calling, “The chief aim of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. That is exactly what I hope my music inspires people to do, experience the incredible joy that’s only found in His awesome presence. For in His presence, our joy is complete.” As God has opened doors, Floyd’s ministry as a psalmist and lead worshiper has spread far and wide. In 2001, he and his wife, Michelle, founded Ancient Wells Ministries, an organization devoted to training and encouraging the next generation of worshipers. Since that time, Floyd has lead worship and encouraged worship leaders all over the United States, as well as in Argentina, Uganda, Malaysia, Russia and Israel.

Mercy Me

The laid-back band from Greenville, Texas, quickly evolved from being Christian music’s fastest-selling new act in 2001 to one of the most successful bands in all musical genres, selling more than 2 million records in only three years and earning an American Music Award nomination. MercyMe followed Almost There in 2001 with 2002’s Spoken For, which was certified gold and produced two more No. 1 hits. Now the band, which has been together for about ten years, has grown beyond its label as “a Christian band” and become nationally known as a great rock group that tackles such serious themes as God and love. Their music is appealing to both devout Christians who study the Bible and young teens who devour Rolling Stone. (from the website)

Energion.com Book Author IndexMystery

Berenson, Laurien

Author of the Melanie Travis mysteries, featuring a number of standard poodles.

Bond, Stephanie

Based on reading one book, I found the story a bit too accidental, the characters annoying, and the pace just a bit slow, but that's just me. With further reading I may well change my mind. I rated that one book 3.

Braun, Lilian Jackson

Lillian Jackson Braun is the author of the Cat Who series. Her writing is just plain good fun. I really appreciate her style because it's relaxing and fun, and I can use it for evening reading.

Bredes, Don

Mystery and suspense writer.

Brown, Rita Mae

I love almost all cat mysteries, and Rita Mae Brown (collaborating with Sneaky Pie Brown) does not disappoint. Some will probably not like the implied intelligence of the animals, but they should just go and read something boring! Note that the animal intelligence is not lightly implied as in the Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun. It's very clear that the animals are involved throughout the story and that they contribute to solving the mystery.

Dalton, Anne Chancey

Anne Dalton is a friend of mine who is a teacher and writer, as well as a character interpreter. I recommend her programs enthusiastically and without reservation. The web site listed on our Energion.com author page for her will provide you with information. She is the author of Massacre Island, and of the coloring book Simon Sails to La Louisiane.

Douglas, Carole Nelson

Author of the bestselling midnight Louie series.

Evanovich, Janet

Author of the Stephanie Plum series.

George, Elizabeth

Elizabeth George is the author of the Inspector Lynley mysteries. I've only recently started reading her material, but I must say I like her short stories a great deal. I've also watched some of the Lynley videos.

I'll likely comment more as time goes by.

Graham, Caroline

Caroline Graham is known as a master of the English village mystery. I have just been introduced to this author (9/10/05), and I will add to this comment as I get more acquainted with her work.

Hess, Joan

I am not well acquainted with this author as yet, having read only the novel Out on a Limb. I rated that novel 3 out of 5 with interesting characters, but a weak story overall. Hopefully I'll get time to add some more to this over time.

Jance, J. A.

I've classified her as a mystery author, but she is perhaps more of a suspense author. If you like some reasonably fast action and stories that do not get hung up on long descriptive passages, you will likely appreciate J. A. Jance.

Parker, I. J.

Author of the Sugawara Akitada series of mysteries.

Peters, Elizabeth

Delightful and knowledgeable author of mysteries, including the Amelia Peabody series.

Peters, Ellis

Pen name for Edith Pargeter, who wrote both serious history and historical mysteries with accurate backgrounds. Our author pages includes informative links, series lists, and a list of the Cadfael books in order.

Pilkington, John

Historical mystery author, Thomas the Falconer series.

Randisi, Robert J.

Author of mysteries and western fiction, and also an editor. He's extremely prolific, with a certain down-to-earth quality.

Robb, J.D.

In 1995, Nora Roberts began writing another 'thread' under the pseudonym, "J.D. Robb". The "In Death" series takes the character, Lieutenant Eve Dallas, a cop in the near future with the New York City Police and Safety Department, through cases with plenty of twists and mystery. We are also given some insight into the personality of Eve Dallas as Ms. Roberts includes wonderful auxiliary characters in Eve's husband, who is known only as Roarke, her fellow officers, Peabody, McNab, and Feeney, and the house majordomo, Sommerset. I personally find J.D. Robb to be my first buy but Nora Roberts does run a close second when I am looking for fiction.

Robinson, Lynda S.

Smith, Alexander McCall

Alexander McCall Smith is more of a storyteller than a weaver of mysteries, in my view, but I greatly appreciate his mastery of the storyteller's craft. This isn't standard fare. You don't have people killed in the first few chapters and then see the mystery solved at the end. Instead, Smith weaves a tale, and in it there are mysteries.

Taylor, Sarah Stewart

Sarah Stewart Taylor is a freelance journalist and likes to look at gravestones. If those two elements work for you, you're probably going to like her writing. I started reading her work with some skepticism, and in fact found the first book I read (Mansions of the Dead) somewhat slow going at the start. But it grew on me, and by the end of the book, I came to appreciate the story.

Webb, Betty

Author of mystery series set in the Scottsdale, AZ area.

Energion.com Book Author IndexPhilosophy

Frankl, Victor E.

An existentialist psychologist who was a survivor of the Nazi concentration camps, Victor Frankl tells some exceptional stories and will challenge your thinking in many areas. I found my time spent reading his books very enlightening even when I disagreed, or simply didn't know enough to have an opinion.

Rand, Ayn

While I don't agree with everything that Ayn Rand has written, I have found her a very challenging thinker. Many followers of Rand, who call themselves objectivists, have an attitude of "take it all or leave it all." I would, instead, suggest that she has performed a service to the world and to philosophy by challenging the foundations of altruistic ethics and popularizing the phrase "rational self interest." When I first heard about her book, The Virtue of Selfishness I was turned off. I was, after all, an undergraduate religion student at the time. But once I read the book, a couple of years after that introduction, I changed my view a bit. While I would still object to rampant selfishness, when self interest is combined with the word "rational" we have something very different.

Another significant service she has performed is in presenting these ethical and artistic ideas in the form of novels. For many, her novels make for slow reading, but for me, reading The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged is a life-building experience. The characters may annoy me from time to time, but they are somebody. I leave the books with the feeling of having met people worth knowing. The ideas flow from the art.

Roberts, Nora

Nora Roberts was born in Silver Spring Maryland, the youngest of five children. After a school career that included some time in Catholic school and the disciplines of nuns, she married young and settled in Keedysville, Maryland. She worked briefly as a legal secretary. "I could type fast but couldn't spell, I was the worst legal secretary ever," she says now. After her sons were born she stayed home and tried every craft that came along. A blizzard in February 1979 forced her hand to try another creative outlet. She was snowed in with a three and six year old with no kindergarten respite in sight and a dwindling supply of chocolate. Born into a family of readers, Nora had never known a time that she wasn't reading or making up stories. During the now famous blizzard, she pulled out a pencil and notebook and began to write down one of those stories. It was there that a career was born. Several manuscripts and rejections later, her first book, Irish Thoroughbred, was published by Silhouette in 1981. Energion.com Book Author IndexScience

Behe, Michael J.

Author of Darwin's Black Box whose feature idea is irreducible complexity. Behe is not precisely anti-evolution, but he maintains that it has limits and there are some systems which would require intelligent design.

Colling, Richard

Dr. Richard Colling is a professor of Biology at Olivet Nazarene University.

Corey, Michael A.

Author of books on science and particularly on deistic and theistic evolution.

Gould, Stephen Jay

Stephen Jay Gould was one of my favorite author about science, who presented scientific ideas to a popular audience very effectively. He was also a professor of natural history at Harvard University.

Johnson, Phillip E.

Author of many anti-evolution books, and also now an advocate of intelligent design.

Montagu, Ashley

Editor and author of series books on science for the educated public.

Sagan, Carl

Well-known popularizer of science. His works are well worth your time to read to build a general knowledge of science. [HN]

Energion.com Book Author IndexScience Fiction

Adams, Douglas

Wonderfully funny author of the Hitchhiker's Guide series and other fun stuff.

Asaro, Catherine

Highly educated author (Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Harvard) who deals with future technology quite skillfully.

Bujold, Lois McMaster

Science fiction author, known for the Miles Vorkosigan series.

Card, Orson Scott

Card writes primarily science fiction and fantasy, but he also has written some novels based on the Bible. I enjoy his story lines and themes, but often find that dialogues and scenes run a bit long for their purpose. Some of his themes are derived from the Book of Mormon and other LDS literature as well as from the Bible.

Chafe, Paul

Paul Chafe is a Canadian author. I have read only his material in the Man-Kzin Wars, but thus far I think his writing is some of the best I've read.

Dietz, William C.

Author specializing in military science fiction.

Drake, David

David Drake is one of my top five favorite science fiction writers. I have a very hard time prioritizing them at that level. David Weber, Alan Dean Foster, Timothy Zahn, and Anne McCaffrey.

Foster, Alan Dean

Alan Dean Foster is a prolific writer in multiple genres. I list him under science fiction because that is the material of his that I tend to read. His writing is interesting, the prose moves forward, but he also has created some interesting cultures that are worth thinking about it. I pretty much read every new book in science fiction that he writes.

Gunnarsson, Thorarinn

Author of the Starwolves series, and also the Magic Words series (fantasy).

Jurasik, Peter

Laumer, Keith

Author of the famous Bolo and Retief series, and certainly one of the greats of humorous science fiction. I pretty much read anything I can get that's written by him, and I also read all of the new Bolo material. (Note that the Bolo series entry here on Energion.com will include books by authors other than Keith Laumer as well.)

McCaffrey, Anne

Well known author of the Dragonriders, Petaybee, and Freedom series, Anne McCaffrey hardly needs any introduction from me. I am in love with her books even though they violate some of the "rules" I have for myself. I generally don't like time travel, I prefer harder science, and I tend not to like things quite so cute. But McCaffrey and her co-authors manage to overcome all of that with excellent characters, interesting cultures and situations, and just plain fine tales.

McDevitt, Jack

Former naval officer, writer of moderately interesting science fiction novels.

Moon, Elizabeth

Author of the Vatta's War series, Elizabeth Moon is not in my first tier of authors, but certainly is a leader in my second tier. I think she has interesting characters, and pretty good action in reasonably interesting backgrounds.

Resnick, Mike

Award winning author. I have only read one of his books at this point (4/13/07), so I'll save comment. His homepage looks excellent as a source of information.

Ringo, John

John Ringo has written a number of books on his own, and also collaborates with David Weber. He is a former Airborne soldier and his knowledge of the military shows in his writing. He provides creative, interesting, and generally consistent backgrounds.

Shepherd, Mike

Author of the Kris Longknife series. A pseudonym for Mike Moscoe who has some other material under that name.

Silverberg, Robert

Noted science fiction author. Many of his stories tend a bit to the dark side, but he is wonderfully skillful, and his stories are tremendously interesting. Besides, he's been around so long and written with such success and acclaim that he should be part of everyone's reading list.

Smith, E. E. 'Doc'

I really enjoy the light hearted, black and white style universe and stories painted by this author. He is most famous for his Lensman series, possibly the greatest single accomplishment in science fiction. Coming from the 1940s and 1950s, this was before the time when the major future history novels were coming out. It's pure entertainment, but with a bit of moral bite to it. If you haven't read 'Doc' Smith's work, you're missing something!

Weber, David

David Weber is the author of the Honor Harrington series, which in itself would be enough to make him one of my favorite science fiction authors. He combines military scifi with a considerable amount of politics and detailed background worlds. All of this is added to reasonably long book series and makes this just plain absorbing fun. He is one of my top five.

White, Steve

Steve White is a former Naval intelligence officer who specializes in fiction dealing with the military. I find his description of military life and combat scenes to be quite good, though not as detailed as those by David Weber. I really enjoyed his novels written with David Weber, but his own book, Forge of the Titans was a bit disappointing, nonetheless better than a mere average.

Zahn, Timorhy

Zahn is an exceptional science fiction writer whose Conqueror and Blackcollar series are amongst my favorites. He has also contributed to Star Wars with a number of books.

Chavda, Mahesh

Cheri Fuller

(From her website) Cheri’s heartbeat is to encourage women to pursue a deeper experience with God. With transparency, energy, and humor, she shares out of the richness of her life experiences and God’s word. Her desire to encourage people and her passion for prayer has inspired her messages and 30 books which are full of hope, practical ideas and stories that impact hearts and change lives. Cheri’s ministry, Families Pray USA, motivates and equips churches, moms and dads, kids and teens and their friends to impact their world through prayer. Cheri Fuller is the author of the Gold Medallion winner, "Extraordinary Kids" (co-authored with Louise Tucker Jones), the bestselling "When Mothers Pray", "The Mom You're Meant to Be: Loving Your Kids While Leaning on God", "The Fragrance of Kindness", "When Couples Pray", "Unlocking Your Child’s Learning Potential", "Opening Your Child’s Spiritual Windows", and others. Cheri speaks at women’s conferences and events throughout the year and is a frequent guest on national radio and TV programs. She’s a Contributing Writer for Today’s Christian Woman, and hundreds of her articles have appeared in Focus on the Family, Family Circle, Pray!, Moody, Decision, and other magazines. She and her husband Holmes have three grown children and live in Oklahoma. I found Mrs. Fuller's writings to be open and to the point. She has a 'gift' of encouraging that empowers you to action. Her books are a WONDERFUL resource for parents!

Edward T. Babinski

Eichrodt, Walter

Well-known scholarly author on Old Testament theology and related topics. He is an important author, but I do not recommend him for beginners. Serious students of the Old Testament will eventually want to work through his two volume theology in the Old Testament library series at a minimum.

George, Elizabeth

Well, I have a page for the mystery writer Elizabeth George, so this page is for the writer of Christian books. I haven't read any of these, but I thought I should have the author page just to provide the link to her official web page.

Hill, Rev. Stephen L.

Raised in upper middle class family. Rebelled at early age. Began drinking/smoking at age 10. Spent next 12 years on drugs. Searched for meaning and purpose in life through friends, cults, travel, hard narcotics, parties, music, etc. Became mainliner at age 16. Arrested 13 times for car theft, narcotics trafficking, and other drug related crimes. In 1975 in a literal life-and-death moment, Steve turned to Jesus Christ and away from the drugs and self-destructive past. Now the senior pastor at Heartland Fellowship Church in Dallas/Ft.Worth, TX, Steve and his wife, Jeri, continue to reach out to the lost and rejected. My children and I met Rev. and Mrs. Hill during the 'Pensacola Outpouring' revival where for five years, services were held with an estimated 3 million people came. Our lives were dramaticaly changed as we came to know a PERSONAL Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kallenberg, Brad J.

Neufeld, Jody

Jody Neufeld is a staff writer and editor for Energion Publications and a regular teacher and lecturer for Pacesetters Bible School. She brings her experience as a mother of three, including twins, a nurse, director of education for Hospice of Northwest Florida (now Covenant Hospice), and as a intercessor and prayer warrior to the team at Energion Publications. She writes a daily online devotional, and is the author of Daily Devotions of Ordinary People - Extraordinary God.

Neufeld, Myrtle Blabey

Myrtle Blabey Neufeld is a retired missionary nurse, and the wife of a retired missionary doctor. She has experienced many different situations in her life and many instances of God's leading. She lives near Niagara Falls, New York where she keeps in touch with family and friends and continues to witness for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rick Joyner

I have met a fair number of people in ministry and there are only TWO that I would call true prophets. Rick Joyner is one of them. You may do an internet search and you will also find people who will VEHEMENTLY tell you that he is not. Isaiah and Jeremiah had their 'nay-sayers' also. For me a prophetic word comes with discernment from the Holy Spirit for ME as to the 'Word' and it's truth in MY life. I encourage people to read Rick Joyner's books WITH their Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to them -- and not listen to the opinion of others -- including me!

Ron DiCianni

Ron DiCianni has become my favorite Christian artist. The first print I believe I saw was "Spiritual Warfare" which depicts (in my mind) a father praying over his child's bed. Every time I look at that print, I see something new. Truly, there is a gift from God called 'Art Worship'.

Barnhouse, Donald Grey

Dispensationalist author specializing in the idea of angelic conflict. See my review of his book The Invisible War for more commentary on his ideas and the Biblical exegesis. I found I agreed with some of his conclusions, but rarely with his exegesis and reasoning.

Drosnin, Michael

Writer and strong advocate of the presence of codes in the Bible, including those that predict future events. (The site listed includes some extracts from Drosnin's first book.)

Haught, John

Dr. John Haught writes particularly on faith and science, integrating evolution, for example, with modern Christian thought. He's a substantial thinker, but quite readable and worth your effort.

Hushbeck, Elgin L. Jr.

Elgin Hushbeck, Jr. is an author, lecturer, teacher and Christian apologist. He is the author of Consider Christianity, a single volume on Christian apologetics that has helped many Christians come to better understand the evidence for their faith. This book is now being reissued by Energion Publications (owner of this web site) in a revised and expanded form in two volumes. The first volume, Evidence for the Bible has already been released. The second will be released at the beginning of September 2005.

Lewis, C. S.

Well-known and excellent Christian writer who made many theological concepts accessible to the serious lay student. His book "Mere Christianity" has been a particular blessing to me, and I have gotten much joy from the Narnia series, and also his space trilogy, especially "That Hideous Strength." Any work by Lewis is worth reading, but prepare to have your thinking challenged.

Norman L. Geisler

Norman Geisler is a conservative author in apologetics and Biblical studies, including defense of inerrancy.

White, Ellen G.

Ellen White is believe to have been a prophetess by Seventh-day Adventists. I do not accept her work as universally valid, but I would suggest she could well be a messenger to a particular movement. She was a prolific writer. Most of her works will be of particular interest to Seventh-day Adventists, but some, including Steps to Christ and the Conflict of the Ages series will be of broader interest.

White, James R.

Conservative, reformed scholar involved in Biblical and apologetic issues. He is also director of Alpha and Omega Ministries.
