Books by Marcus Borg
- Marcus Borg is a fellow of the Jesus Seminar and the author of a number of books. I especially appreciated his "Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time" for its effective presentation of faith from a liberal perspective. I hope to do detailed reviews of some of his books soon, but for the moment I will just offer this list. There is some information in my bibliography for the Jesus Seminar's works.

Historical Jesus Scholarship
- Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time : The Historical Jesus & the Heart of Contemporary Faith

This is an important work for the layman understanding the quest and also trying to understand liberal theology. It is written with grace and sensitivity. You will appreciate the tone and spirit, even if you disagree with some or most of the contents.

- This is an excellent set of essays reflecting on the methodology of the third quest. I don't recommend it as a first book on the historical Jesus, but if you have already read a few of the basic works (for example, Borg's Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time, The Five Gospels, Luke Timothy Johnson's The Real Jesus, good commentaries on the gospels, or introductions to the New Testament), then this is an interesting overview and update on where the scholarship is.
